Objective
My main
goal by displaying my achievements and academic interests within the field of
fine arts and graphic design is to obtain future career and business
opportunities. My overall goal
within the next year is to accumulate an impressive body of work to be
considered for the Bachelor of Fine Arts program at my university. The review will take into consideration
my projects, work ethic, and future ambitions. I’ve always felt more comfortable working within a creative
field and while working towards a degree in Communications I struggled figuring
out a specific skill set. I’ve
always heard that Fort Hays’ graphic design program is highly reputable and
that graduates do very well. I
figured I would give it a try. So far, everyone in the art department has been
inspiring, welcoming, and enthusiastic. I feel very strongly that I’ll be able
to build a future for myself while working towards this major. My background in the Communication
Studies field will assist me in graphics because although I’m not the most
organically artistic I have a wealth of knowledge in discussing my concepts and
methods to others as well as accepting criticism and improving.
When
looking towards my future my goals are still developing. More recently I’m focusing on improving
my drawing skills and different elements of design. I also think I might be well suited to work as a creative
director in my future. A creative director is a link between designers and
clients. I think my communication background and my ability to speak with many
different types of people would make me very well suited for that type of work.
